Skills Bootcamps

Skills Bootcamps, part of the Department for Education’s Skills for Life initiative, offer individuals of all ages essential, in-demand skills to boost their career prospects and unlock new opportunities.

The OSH is proud to be a Skills Bootcamp provider, offering government-funded, industry- leading training. Our programmes aim to bridge the skills gap in plant, the built-environment, and infrastructure sectors, providing long-term career opportunities for those eager to start or advance their careers.

What are Skills Bootcamps?

  • Skills Bootcamps aim to address skills gaps in the economy and to ensure that the workforce is equipped to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing job market.
  • Aimed at adults who are unemployed, employed but looking to advance their careers, or seeking to change their career paths.
  • Flexible courses of up to 16 weeks, giving people the opportunity to build up sector- specific skills.
  • Learners will get a guaranteed interview with an employer upon completion.
  • Available to employers to help upskill staff with the right training and skills.

Entry Criteria

  • Aged 19 years or older.
  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Live in England.

Is there a cost?

  • Fully funded for adults aged 19 or over.
  • A training cost contribution will apply to employers who train an existing employee (10% for SME’s, 30% for large employers).
  • There is no cost to businesses who wish to recruit individuals who have completed the Skills Bootcamp.
