The Operator Skills Hub provides innovative, future focussed training solutions for plant operators in the UK construction and infrastructure sector.

Delivering high quality training, we’re fully accredited to many standards including Compliance Plus, Construction Plant Competence Scheme (CPCS) and the National Open College Network. All our courses are carefully planned and scheduled throughout the year to ensure you have access to training on a regular basis.

CPCS and NPORS plant training and technical tests

A full range of plant training and technical tests can be provided for the use of excavator, roller, dumpers, dozer, telehandler and wheeled loading shovels. Level 2 NVQs in plant operations are also be available. The centre is also accredited to deliver CPCS renewal tests and CITB health, safety and environment tests.

Construction plant operative apprenticeships

A new apprenticeship standard aimed at new entrants looking to start a career as a plant operative. The duration of this structured programme is between 12-16 months and involves a robust end-point assessment process.

Utility detection training

We can offer a range of utility detection, mapping and safe digging practice training at our world-class detection facility which is fully accredited to EUSR, SHEA and DWI.

New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA) training

The NRSWA course for operatives and supervisors ensures all works on roads and infrastructure in the UK is carried out to the highest standard and meets all requirements of the current regulations.

GPS machine control and guidance training

GPS training using simulation and practical exercises. Upskilling excavator, dozer, roller, and grader drivers on the use of GPS machine control and guidance technology. Site engineers and site managements can also access training on the use of machine control technology.

Site Safety Plus courses

Offering the full range of CITB accredited Site Safety Plus courses which enable workers in the construction sector to develop their skills. The courses are designed to give everyone from operatives to senior managers the ability to progress through the industry.

NOCN accredited courses

A range of bespoke courses such as Site Right to provide learners with a certification to show that they are safe and competent to work on a construction site. The Skills Hub is also offering Level 1 simulator training. All courses are accredited by NOCN, one of the leading constructions accreditation bodies in the UK.

Health and Safety short courses

Designed to keep people safe on site, these courses are relevant to anyone working in a construction environment and cover many topics including the people plant interface. These can be delivered on site at the Operator Skills Hub or a customers site.
